New Year's Eve Party Food

Going to a party tomorrow night? I am, and I'm really looking forward to it! I love getting together with friends to usher in the year at the stroke of midnight. Food is naturally a part of that celebration.

Whether you're going to a pot luck or having a celebration at home, here are some ideas as you plan the way you greet 2009.

Bacon-Wrapped Dates with White Balsamic-Shallot Glaze

Kofte (Lamb) Kabob Lollipops with Pomegranate Reduction and Lentil Salad

Korean Scallion Pancakes with Spicy Soy Dipping Sauce

Curried Pumpkin Samosas

Pineapple Curd with Crumbly Gorgonzola in Prosciutto Cups

Focaccia with Grapes, Caramelized Onions and Blue Cheese

Onion and Zucchini Galette with Balsamic Reduction

Chocolate Ricotta Mousse

Easy Jam Tart

Pear-Cranberry Galette with Blue Cheese, Hazelnuts and Agave Nectar

I made this cheese spread for Christmas Eve that I'm planning to make again--it was that good. Very, very simple and oh, so tasty, it's a basic chevre-and-mascarpone blend for crackers, topped with a juicy blackberry.

Chevre-Mascarpone Spread with Blackberries

4 ounces chevre

2 ounces mascarpone

Combine cheeses and serve in a small dish alongside whole-grain crackers and a mound of fresh blackberries. Delicious.

I just love New Year's Eve! In fact, I'm having a Casino Party at my house--blackjack, roulette, craps, and horse racing. My friend's husband (who could be a master chef!) is taking care of all the appetizers...thank goodness!

I hope that you have a great New Year's Eve and enjoy all of your good food!!
