I'm a Convert

Along with the figs, mascarpone has been a new experience for me. It's so unbelievably expensive--but this week it was on sale 2 for the price of one. Even so, $3.49 for two containers of what is basically cream cheese is high.

But so worth it.

Mascarpone is italian cream cheese that has a clean, sweet-neutral taste. It was fabulous atop my sliced figs, but today I tried it stirred into a bowl of spaghetti with a spicy tomato sauce.

Oh. My. God.

No photo--I was licking the bottom of the bowl before I even thought of the camera. But you have to try it--if you can get your hands on a tub of mascarpone, buy it.
