I spent almost two weeks over the holidays on a 'bad for me food binge.' Yes, I indulged in sugar--and lots of it--in all its glorious forms. Cake, cookies, candy, even high fructose corn syrup in SODA!
Yikes. I know.
But even with all that, I managed to lose weight. How wierd is that? I lost two pounds over that two weeks. And starting on the 26th I returned to my regular food lifestyle (no sugar, bread or flour and carefully controlled starches) and since then lost another two pounds.
Yay!
If that's not incentive to stay on my eating plan, I don't know what is! Thus begins my list of resolutions for 2008:
#1: staying on-track with what goes in my mouth
#2: adding regular exercise
#3: become better with blog-post planning, and continue to post regularly (at least 5 days per week)
#4: acquire a dishwasher for Mrs.W's Kitchen
#5: continued focus on spiritual life
#6: paint house interior, with new window dressings (obviously waiting until Thundercat is fully trained and no longer climbing curtains)
#7: attempt vegetable garden 2.0 (2007's vegetable garden 1.0 failed miserably, with nary a bean in sight)
#8: greater focus on eating seasonally and locally-grown produce
#9: beautify home exterior using frugal, creative solutions to be determined
#10: continue to experiment with whole grains and other recipes suitable for my dietary lifestyle

Dear Mrs. W,
I wish you all your wishes come true! I like your blog new style, and the picture you posted of yourself in the profile is very cute! I am a little jealous of the snow.
Looks like you had a great Christmas... so also many wishes for a great new Year to all your family!
Thank you so much, Marta. We've got more snow falling right now. I'm glad to be tucked indoors!
Happy New Year and blessings to you and yours.
