Time for Chili!

I don't know about you, but it's been downright cold here the last several days. Even today is warmer, but the early autumn drizzle makes it feel colder.

And that makes me want chili.

Mr.W is particularly fond of chili with black beans. I like whatever beans are around--kidney, black, pinto... whatever. Sometimes I like to add hominy to mine, but don't always.

I even occasionally go the cheating route and buy one of those pre-packaged spice blends. They're actually quite good!

So if you're as cold as I am these days, whip you up a big crock pot of chili. It's quick to fix and warms up the whole family.

Chili is the perfect comfort food! I can't wait to dig in to my own, but I'll have to wait for this crazy hot LA weather to cool down first!

I've heard about your recent heat wave... hopefully it won't be too long!

I don't want to accept that summers over but it's definitely getting colder here, your chili looks like the perfect cold weather food!

I'm with you there, Sam. I'm not all that pleased to see the end of summer, myself... but there is something spectacular about enjoying these kinds of comfort foods again.

Our trees are in full color now; it won't be long until they've dropped away entirely. I think we'll have an early winter.

Why yes, indeed, it is, Miz Grace! I, too, like it spicy--but put sour cream in mine! Yummmm...

Great looking bowl of chili. Just the way I like it with lots of sauce.
