Catching Up

Oh, I've been up to much silliness, my friends. And none of it is blogworthy, I'm afraid.

Instead of doing my job and creating fabulous new recipes for you, I've been cooking from tried-and-true recipes, like black-eyed peas with whole-wheat biscuits (made drop-style in muffin tins and without the herbs & shallots)...

I ate a yummy sandwich...

I cooked sliced chicken breasts in my spicy peanut sauce that I adored but Mr.W turned up his nose...

And I burned some perfectly good granola (not one, but TWO recipes, which aggravated me to no end) before finally deciding I shouldn't cook AND play on the interwebs.

I've also been goofing off.

Reading...

Shooing the cat away from my plants...

Making a sweet little baby changing pad from felted wool lined with a terry-cloth hand towel...

...that I gave away at a baby shower--and don't think I'm not having separation anxiety over it, too!

I got new glasses, which, for some reason, make my hair misbehave.

And I've been playing on TWITTER.

Not to mention recovering from a surgery last week that we hope will allow me to become pregnant very, very soon.

Nothing at all you would be interested in, I assure you.

Thanks, Kathy! I love them, too. They've got all the bells & whistles--anti-glare, anti-scratch, transitions lenses, UV coating... AND they have those magnetic sunglasses that attach, which will be nice in the car (transitions don't work in the car).

Nothing wrong with tried and true recipes! Sometimes it's nice to stick with the ones you know will be good.

Hi, Sam! Yes, I have been busy lately... and thank you! I do quite like these glasses.

Hello, Sara! I agree--I recently mentioned to a twitter friend that some food just doesn't need messing with. Oldies are goodies!
