Merry Christmas!

Preparations are well underway for Christmas Eve supper here at Chez W. The menu is set and there's much cooking to be done today.

Here is the menu:

Shrimp & Cocktail Sauce
Crackers with Goat Cheese and Fresh Blackberries

Baked Ham
Potato Salad
Bacony Baked Beans
Ambrosia Salad
(regular and sugar-free options)
Assorted Breads & Rolls
Lettuce, Tomato and Cheese Tray
Mayo & Mustard

Assorted Desserts
including
Sugar-Free Banana Pudding

Coffee, Tea, Fruited Water
Red Wine, Mead
Assorted Spirits

Tomorrow we'll be heading over to my brother & sister-in-law's place for Christmas brunch; then it's off to the movies to watch... well, a movie, to be determined. After that we'll be heading back home for some much-needed lazing about and eating of leftovers.

Here's wishing you and yours a very merry Christmas!

I love your idea of your series of kitchen tips. Keep going with them until you reach 100.

My new book (Nov/08) is filled with kitchen tips, in fact, each chapter is a series of kitchen tips with recipes here and there.

Definitely worth checking out:

Many thanks, George. I need to get back to posting those!

Rebecca--thank you, and Merry Christmas to you & your family. We do have to get together sometime.

Kathy, my friend. Thank you.

Christmas Eve recap: the meal was a success--plenty of food for all, and LOTS of leftovers! The chevre & blackberries were a HUGE hit. I had to mix it with some mascarpone to make it a spreadable consistency, however. The blackberries were a perfect accompaniment to the saltiness of the goat cheese. Everything else was good, traditional food. The sugar-free ambrosia salad was, dare I say BETTER than regular 5-cup salad!
