Remember these guys?
We found out why they've been hanging around.
Mr.W found the nest yesterday while mowing the lawn--it's a wonder he didn't kill them all, either with the mower blades or by stepping into the nest. It was covered by a mound of grey fur. We weren't sure what it was--we peeked in and saw squirming little things. I ran away, thinking they were rats.
Then today, I saw one of the backyard bunnies again--this time, hanging around the nest. Two plus two finally came together... rabbits!
We had some rain, and the fur atop the nest was pushed aside, which allowed me to take these pictures. Look how the baby on the left lifted his head to sniff the air as I was nearby. They're tiny--I'd say about 4" long and 2-1/2" wide at most.
Cute, huh?
In other news... there is no news. More doctor's appointments, and doing some freezer-diving to use up bits & bobs that have gone in during the last few months. Nothing exciting... except that I'm still eating my Strawberry-Rhubarb Ice Cream. I bought a box of small cake cones--only 4 carbs each--to have little ice cream cones. Nice portion control, I'd say.

How cute. We have bunnies where we live too. :-) It's so nice to watch all the wildlife from the window. I see your kitty enjoyed it too.
Thundercat DID enjoy watching the bunnies through the window. She tried to charm them with her odd throaty chirps.
I'm keeping her away from the babies, though.
Very cute!
Thank you, C&V! They ARE adorable.
I think mama had enough of my photographic interest in her babes, however. They have been moved to an unknown location. Nearby, I think, because mama is still around.
I thought you'd like these, Michele!
